Fire restrictions in North East Victoria have started, so it's out with the chiminea and in with some funky blue adirondack chairs, to kick back in and enjoy some cool, fizzy drinks!

<![CDATA[Mindful Birding]]>Thu, 20 Feb 2025 07:22:52 GMThttp://www.kingfisherretreat.com.au/blog/mindful-birding
As I sat down to update the Kingfisher Retreat website tonight, I noticed this cute little pic in the bottom left corner of my laptop, where you usually type in something you are looking for.
With curiosity I clicked on the Learn more > tab, only to enter a world I never knew existed, through reading the associated article..."The benefits of birdwatching".
Here is a
link to the article, a really interesting read about the benefits of birdwatching, and a concept introduced by Holly Merker called "Mindful Birding". Holly's interest in mindful birding led her to founding the Mindful Birding Network in 2021. Kingfisher Retreat has now joined the network, so we'll be sure to share news of upcoming events and more about Mindful Birding.

Birdwatching improves mental wellbeing, science finds, and a global movement says it's felt the benefits for years
